One Yard Wonders

Have y’all heard of this book? I’ve been looking at it forever but haven’t actually taken the plunge to buy it for myself.

My Korea BFF has it! She let me borrow it. I’ve been feeling super motivated to actually sew something now. I haven’t in a long while.

I’m super lazy like that.

Anywho, I borrowed her book and now my other BFF Michelley Welly and I are planning to sew some projects together. Even though she’s in TX.

We are starting out super easy peasy with the sewing machine cover. Sort of jogging my sewing memory.

Right now my machine is just at the back of my desk where I do bloggy stuff and lots of vinyl stuff. Not much sewing going on there.

It’s a little dusty.

Now we have our project! I need to choose a fabric.

😐

Do I bust into my chevron stash that I bought and never touched?

Do I try to coordinate with the little storage bag I have on my other desk?

Not sure if I have a full yard of it. We’ll see.

Or maybe these super cute bicycles that I luuuurve and don’t have a use for??

I just don’t know.

And then there’s this. Bleh.

NO idea.

Happy Quilt Is My Happy Place

Our stuff is here! Have I mentioned that yet 😀

Anywho, that means my sewing machine is here which means I needed to get back to Happy Quilt…

and Niki is suddenly a sewing FREAK and needed a lot of fabric for a million projects…

so back we went.

With my camera 😉

But first a few Pyeongtaek shots.

Pyeongtaek is about 5-10 minutes away? It’s the ‘big’ city by us.

The Mililani to our Wahiawa if you’re one of my Hawaii friends.

The Eprise to Rucker’s Daleville for my Alabama friends.

We live in Anjung-ri (did I spell that right?) which is the little town right outside of base.

Anywho, I dont know if Happy Quilt is in Pyeongtaek or not but I DO know how to get there without directions now and that’s what matters.

**Edited to add directions to Happy Quilt at the bottom of the page**

So much fabric.

Mostly cotton.

Mostly cut and pre packaged and ready to go.

There are big rolls too

We found flannel…but no jersey.

So if you’re in Korea and you know where they hide it let me know!

21March12 013

And some chunky metal scissors

21March12 014

And a sale table 😀 At least I think it was a sale table.

21March12 015

Spools of trimmings

21March12 010

Cute little metal dangles

21March12 016

Bobbins

21March12 017

Zippers!

21March12 018

And the ready to go quilt packs.

21March12 019

And of course no trip to Happy Quilt would be complete without 2 toddlers running wild 😐

Thankfully they’re not destructive…just active 🙂 And super cute.

Until they are done and Timmy tries to let them both out of the front door.

Anywho, I ended up getting the quilt pack with the cars.

And omg Im so over cutting squares already.

There are 24 different fabrics. Well, 8 I guess but each came in 3 different colors if that makes any sense.

One day I’ll finish cutting and actually get to sew!

Oh…and finally a shot of traffic heading home :-/
