Today I thought I’d share one of my post boob workouts. I had 2 very serious reasons for second thinking the whole boob thing. First of all, I cant skate for a while. Bummer. Second, my awesome lifting program I was halfway through will have to be put on hold. Another bummer. But I couldn’t just STOP working out all together. Or going to the gym. I was at the gym the day before surgery and I only missed 3 gym days (we go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) after surgery. I knew staying home would only make getting into the routine of going again even harder. I had to be there.
Obviously there’s not a lot of stuff I could do right away. My first day back was pretty much just following friends around and helping them with form and what not. But I was THERE. I’ve been trying to come up with something that I could do once I felt a little better that didn’t involve any upper body stuff. I did one leg/butt day. Felt like a loser not doing the chest/back stuff along with my friend but I did what I could. Lots of step ups and lunges and squat variations. It still kicked my butt.
Today I decided to strap everything into my new (much bigger) Under Armour sports bra and jump on the treadmill. I still am not ok to run (not that I would. Running sucks) but instead did an inclined walking workout I found a while back. It was originally posted by Natalie Hodson when she was preggo and couldn’t do a lot of high impact stuff either. Love her by the way. You should too.
This was her post online from a few months back that I saved to my phone to keep and try for myself. I’ve done it before and it kicked my butt. I knew it would be a good post boob workout for me.
And here’s my bathroom mirror gym shot. Ready to get my booty kicked again. I spose I could have planned better and at least closed the stall doors… :/
So now I have a ton of random ‘action shots’ that are all pretty blurry. I guess I can’t walk and take pictures with my phone at the same time :/ But here’s one. My time was off since I walked a bit before actually starting while I tried to get my watch on and going.
The highest inclines suck. But I had the 90’s Best of the Best playing to keep me going…
After I hopped off I stopped my watch at just about 31 minutes.
And I burned 474 calories.
It’s not my crazy high skating calorie burn or even what I burn walking at a 7% incline while watching Army Wives on my treadmill. But its also not horrible. Better than sitting at home because if I would have I would most definitely been on Facebook all morning. I’ll take it 🙂 And my booty muscles were angry when I was done. Now if I could only get my eating back under control.
