Ok yall, I’m finally getting back into the workout groove and am really excited about starting the Live Fit Trainer program. I’ve been looking at it for probably 8 months now but never actually got on board. Either I wasn’t strict enough, couldn’t give up the cardio, or was working on the New Rules of Lifting program. Whatever the reason, it never happened.

But now it’s on!

The Live Fit Trainer is a workout program/eating plan created by fitness model, Jamie Eason. The whole thing is only 12 weeks long. That seems like nothing compared to the 6 month NROL. It is broken into 3 month long phases.

Phase 1:  Intro to lifting heavy and learning to eat clean. NO cardio.

Phase 2: Add in the cardio and cut back on carbs.

Phase 3: Carb cycling, high-intensity interval training, and supersets

There are recipes, videos, a food list, shopping tips, emergency at home workouts when you cant get to the gym…lots of good stuff!

I’m really excited to start this on Monday!I think a workout program is a workout program and the real results will have everything to do with committing myself to a clean eating lifestyle.

Phase 1 is all about eating clean and lifting. Week 1 and 2 will be 4 days a week while weeks 3 and 4 move up to  days a week.

I’ve been pretty much addicted to the MyFitnessPal app/website. I track pretty much everything I eat. I get so many eye rolls when I say that but really it’s not hard. Once you add in the things you eat often it is all saved there for you…and if you have an iphone the app has a barcode scanner which makes tracking seriously painless. I just scan the barcode of whatever it is I eat and it saves it. Too easy! If you use it too you should be my friend…GirlMeetsCamera is the use name ;)

The eating plan is pretty much just the best way to eat anyway, I think….not an actual diet. Everyone should eat clean. Clean = no sugar, preservatives…avoid packaged foods and anything with ingredients that you can’t pronounce. I’ve heard if it didn’t have a mamma or come from the ground don’t eat it. Easier said than done!! I’m learning though that there are plenty of tasty options without the junk. Even some sweet treats to make.

So…clean eating. Check. Eat within an hour of waking up. Eat every 3 hours. Drinks TONS of water…I think the ‘rule’ is half your body weight in ounces. Or you can just shoot for 8 cups a day.

Eating is going to be the hardest part for me. I need to make sure I get my veggies in. I think the key for me will be to prep some things on the weekend to have portioned out and stored in the fridge for my mid day meals every week. I’m going to try that this weekend.

I’m thinking meat loaf/turkey muffins, salsa chicken,  protein bars, and wash and chop veggies to bag up so its all right there and ready. Chopping veggies is the worst for me…Id rather just not eat any than have to get it all out and chop it. If I do it ahead of time and bag it all up in portions then it’s there and ready.

Something we have that I think is a lifesaver in the veggie department is the microwave steamer.

I hate 99% of raw veggies and this is so fast and easy and  no mess…love it!

So that’s it for now I think. I am planning on a big update after each phase and will probably post a lot of randoms about it through out the whole process. SUPER excited!

Also, I’ll be back tomorrow with Find It Friday! This week’s word is FAST

I said it was coming…and I am actually following through ;)

Another week getting away from me. I’m in a rut. I just dont feel like I do anything worth blogging and when I do I don’t ever have my camera with me. I feel another Instagram Dump in the near future.

Anywho, FIND IT FRIDAY! Actually on Friday this time. Woo!

FIF

This week’s word was LOVE. Fitting for us since this week was our 9th wedding anniversary. Of course Im totally lame and didn’t do anything special. Thomo on the other hand looked up this years gift (he does every year…when will I remember and look too?!) which he says is pottery.

I came home from the bus stop Wednesday afternoon to find this on the table

25May2012 196

SO PRETTY!

25May2012 198

25May2012 195

25May2012 194

25May2012 193

So yeah. Awesome Thomas.

In other news:

My friend Jamie and I are doing the Couch to 5K program. If yall didn’t know this is my 3rd time doing it. I always get through the 9 weeks to where I can run the full 5k then quit. Either winter hits or I discover the gym and lifting weights…whatever. I. HATE. RUNNING. I’m all for it during the beginning interval stage but once I’m into the long distance runs I fizzle out. I don’t want to be a runner. This time though I am determined to run in a 5k race just to say I did. Feeling like I put all the work in then have nothing to show for it…no final goal. I just stop.

Also, the pool/water park on post is open now. We have a half season family pass so hopefully there will be some super awesome pictures to show from that soon enough.

3 more weeks of school :| Shoot me. All of our Alabama friends are out for summer already. Stupid Korea.

I think that’s it for now. Maybe. Either way, it’s almost 6 and I haven’t started dinner…but it’s Friday so no rush ;) TGIF :D

Check out the list of FIF words HEREÂ

Next week is FAST!

This weekend was one of those rare weekends that we actually had a day together as a family. T ended up not golfing on his normal Saturday golf day (he golfs Saturday, I skate Sunday. No weekend free time.) It also just so happened to be the day that some of my Osan derby team mates were going to be skating with the ROK Derby teams in a scrimmage in Daegu.

Daegu is about 2.5 hrs away by car. If you take the KTX (bullet train) you can get there a LOT faster…but I’m cheap, T likes to drive, and we wanted to be able to get around and do more down there than just ride down, watch, and ride home. So we (we means Thomas) drove down there.

19May2012 004

2.5 hrs is a long time :| I admit at about an hour in I started second guessing our big family day trip and was ready to find something to do in whatever town we were passing at that moment. “We’re not even HALF way there! Ugh….” Poor Thomas.

19May2012 005

But it was worth it :) The kids slept most of the way there which was pretty awesome.

19May2012 003

There were some tunnels we went through at some point. Made me miss Hawaii a ton.

19May2012 007

Doesn’t it almost feel like you’re on the H3 headed toward Kaneohe? Maybe? A little?

19May2012 007

Only when you pop out the other side the clouds don’t part and angels don’t sing and you don’t see the view that you see in Hawaii coming through that tunnel.

We did pass a random little waterfall though. Not that it’s the same at. all.

19May2012 008

And some bridges

19May2012 009

Korea is kind of pretty :)

19May2012 010

I liked Daegu.

19May2012 011

19May2012 012

19May2012 013

19May2012 014

19May2012 015

I like Korea as a whole a lot more now that things are growing and blooming and everything isn’t brown.

19May2012 016

Is that a kid in a booster seat in the front? Weird.

19May2012 017

Wait…what the…

19May2012 018

Awesome

19May2012 019

At this point Layla is whining a LOT. She didn’t feel too hot..but thankfully no puke. We needed OUT of that car.

19May2012 020

After some Googling on our drive down there I found the Daegu National Museum on lonelyplanet.com

Using Google Maps on our phones we tracked it down and were very thankful to finally be somewhere and not sitting in the car.

I loved it there! This was outside the front of the building. I could live in this little tunnel

19May2012 021

19May2012 022

19May2012 023

The main inside area. I liked the stairs

19May2012 024

There was a lot of really neat and REALLY old Korea things there. Ancient pots to more recent (does the 1800s count as recent?) books and clothes. Lots to learn about!

19May2012 025

This was pretty neat

19May2012 026

Stamps for the designs on the clothes

19May2012 027

Lots of neat hair pins and ornaments.

19May2012 028

19May2012 029

Belt dangly things

19May2012 030

A whole section on Buddah and religion

19May2012 031

19May2012 032

19May2012 033

19May2012 035

19May2012 036

And this is how most of the rest of our time was spent..Layla running ahead and Timmy chasing her.

19May2012 037

19May2012 038

19May2012 040

19May2012 041

19May2012 042

19May2012 044

No Skating -

19May2012 045

19May2012 046

Finally made it back around to the car

19May2012 047

Just thought this was neat. I think I remember a spot in Hawaii where the lanes were split by a median with trees.

19May2012 048

19May2012 049

19May2012 050

Checkin his flip phone

19May2012 051

This reminded me of Hawaii too (A lot of Korea does)

19May2012 052

These little guys creep me out. Robot flag wavers. Very creepy at night when they just stand there in the dark.

19May2012 053

19May2012 054

We were sitting in traffic next to a flower shop. Ignore the white blown out flowers :|

19May2012 055

19May2012 056

19May2012 057

Why wouldn’t a random whale float be driving down the road?

19May2012 058

And the whole reason we made the trip to Daegu…

two of our Osan skaters (#11 Bull Lee and #58 Oh Hell No Kitty)

were joining up with the ROKDerby league to skate in their scrimmage.

There are 78 pictures  **HERE** of that if you are interested :)

A while back (a long while…I suck!) I got a blog award from Becky at Ballistic Gypsy and then recently I got ANOTHER from Lindsay at Trying Not To Stress.

Today I’m going to stop being a terrible blogger and start playing along. Thank you ladies for the awards! Now I’ll pass them on :D

I don’t expect anyone to actually pass this on.

Heck it was like pulling teeth to get myself to do it…it’s been a draft for a week or so now…

but it’s always nice to hear that someone likes you :)

Just wanted to take the opportunity to share some of my faves with you!

Starting first, from Becky, the Leibster Award

So what is the Liebster award?
Well, there is no definitive answer to that in any dictionary and vague descriptions in a google search. I’ve compiled that it’s an award that you are given by someone else that says, “Hey, I like your blog and keep up the great work you’re doing.” It’s a great way to discover new blogs and share the love.

Here’s how it works once given a Liebster Award:

1.  Post the award on your blog.
2.
Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
3.
Choose 5 other blogs deserving of the Liebster.
4.
List the bloggers you gave the award to with links back to their sites.
5.
Leave a comment on their blogs to let them know they’ve received the award.

Now to list 5 Blogs I really like reading -

The next award is from Lindsay. It’s the One Lovely Blog award!

the award rules:

  1. Share who gave you the award with a link back to their blog. (You can click on her name above for the link).
  2. Share 7 random facts about yourself.
  3. Give the award to 7 other bloggers.
  4. Let them know that they’ve won.
  5. Put the award up on your blog.

7 Random Facts

  1. I’m excellent at starting projects that I will never finish
  2. I have horrible social anxiety. I’d rather go grocery shopping at the commissary on a payday than be put in a room full of people I don’t know.
  3. I love Disney movies. The Little Mermaid will always be my favorite and I will get the heart/crown tattoo ONE day.
  4. I can’t eat anything that looks like it did when it was alive (shrimp, whole fish, crab legs, lobster…) but have started eating meat on a bone. Baby steps…
  5. Swimming in natural bodies of water creeps me out big time. I don’t like the idea of creatures touching me.
  6. I have a weakness for anything with chocolate and peanut butter.
  7. I STILL have not found a sugar cookie recipe that I haven’t been able to completely screwed up.

Now. 7 Blogs to pass it on to.

(Shh, it was 15…but I like 7 better. It matches the 7 random facts…)

It’s Friday in the states still right? Good.

FIF

Because I’m a slacker.

What has gotten into me?!

Either way. Light. Took a picture of my new hair (one of 75 pictures) and got a neat little halo thanks to the light from the bathroom window.

Next week’s word is OPENING. Lets see if I do better on that one ;)

Ok.

Photo dump time! Looking at what I’ve loaded to Flickr lately…

Pyeongtaek

We got a package from Jill with a bunch of flops and tshirts for Layla since I suck and didn’t pack/send any sandals for her…she also snuck in a package of Kachow unders for Timmy :)

04May12 013

Posing for me…

04May12 015

So what if his face is all blown out and there’s an orange-y cast to it. I snapped when he was actually being cute!

04May12 016

Last friday night T and I went to stay in Seoul for the night to attend the aviation ball. I didn’t take any pictures except for a few in the room. I suck.

And that’s all for now. I have some more posts I need to get to though! Hopefully I do. I’m such a lazy butt lately. Sorry y’all!

Oy vey, there I go again falling off of the planet and not blogging. We spent last night in Seoul to attend the Army aviation ball. Fun times!

I have a bunch of random pictures. I see a photo dump in our future.

But for now let me post (late) my Find It Friday picture.

This week’s word was Glass.
